Colonel Walrond was a devot Royalist during the English Civil War. He was one of the hostages surrendered to Lord Fairfax at Bridgewater. His property was seized by Parliment. He was prisoner at the Gatehouse of Westminster. In 1645 he, his brother Edward and son George fled to Barbados. Shortly after arriving he was able to build up two plantations on prime land. Eventually bannished for his Royalist beliefs he went to Spain were he was made the Marquess of Vallado and received other titles. Eventually he returned to Barbados and then to England.
He became the 1st Marquis of Vallado.1
