Alex Diffey, a PRE guest writes: "My 14 year old son and I had a great time at the PRE. I wanted to show him a lifestyle as different as I could from living in a large city, working at a large company, and being stuck in traffic every day. The PRE did that and more. We had some previous riding experience, but none was necessary. Riding huge open pastures to check on cattle, fix holes in the fence, look at the deer and antelope, check the stock tanks, etc., gave us a taste of real western life - not the dude ranch thing.
The horses were great - the ranch gelding I had all week at the PRE is the best horse I’ve ever ridden. The best part of the PRE is that the ranch is huge and the visitor capacity is small. We could do what we wanted to do. I’m not ready for a strenuous 3 day sleep-on-the-ground cattle drive, and I’m not likely to ever visit a dude ranch. The PRE is right in the middle - the real stuff with a comfortable bunkhouse and great food 3 times a day. Just right. Best vacation I’ve ever had. Leslie, Steve and Bob will be remembered fondly by Alexander for the rest of his life, and that’s as nice a gift as I could ever give my wonderful son."
Al Cowan, another PRE guest, writes: "I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know what a great time my daughter and I had at the Powder River Experience last summer. We had plenty of riding in the wide open spaces and saw lots of deer, antelope and other critters. I especially enjoyed the cattle work and meeting Bob King with the Cowboy School. Even though I didn’t join the class, I picked up a few pointers in the evenings.
